It’s the beginning of February and the time of year when our motivation slows and our New Year’s Resolutions get added to next years list. It’s the same thing every year. Once we stop hearing others talk about their resolutions, we forget our own.
Don’t let that be you!
I’ve put together a list of tips that are easy to incorporate into your everyday life without feeling like you’re putting in too much effort. A few of them are more habits which can translate into a easier, more healthy lifestyle. Try a few of them out and let me know what you think!
DRINK MORE WATER
I feel like I put this in every wellness post but it’s true, we all need to drink more water. It’s good for our skin, hair, nails, immune system and complexion. My personal tip here would be to buy yourself new water bottle, fill it up every morning when you’re about to start your day and keep drinking.
Extra tip // Add lemon! This miracle food can help brighten your skin, clear any blemishes and make your plain water taste so much better.
READ BEFORE BED
I’ve been really bad about falling asleep to Netflix lately…not good! Reading before bed (and reading more in general) is at the top of my list.
COOK AT HOME AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK
For anyone reading this that does not live in New York, you probably think I’m crazy but I do not cook. It could be that my kitchen is so small or that there are just so many distractions and other places to choose from, but I have to make it part of my weekly schedule to cook at home.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Podcasts lately. Whether it’s current event and news podcasts, entrepreneurship podcasts or something completely unrelated, I always learn a little something! I use them as a way to look forward to going to the gym. Being motivated to go to the gym and learning something, it’s a win-win!
A lot of us are also motivated by music. Sometimes we need that new playlist with songs on repeat to get us up and out the door. If listening to music works for you, see my latest post on my Winter Playlist.
GO TO BED ONE HOUR EARLIER
Go to bed earlier, you’ll wake up more refreshed! It’s not some outlandish suggestion but there can be so many benefits. Think about it…you may have an extra hour in the morning to be productive or you could sleep that will make you more productive later in the day.
GIVE YOURSELF SOME LOVE
Watch one more episode of that Netflix show. Read that guilty pleasure book. Eat the rest of the piece of cake. These small rewards is what keeps us on track with the rest of our goals. Without them we feel like we’re depriving ourselves of actually enjoying the payoff of our strict days.
What I’m wearing // I’m a big believer in the all black workout look. I don’t know why, but I’m more attracted to neutrals to wear to the gym then bright colored leggings and workout tops. The sports bra I’m wearing is from TomboyX. Since it’s cotton, it’s so comfortable but it may not be your top pick for high impact activities. I’m also wearing my favorite high-waisted Lululemon Wunder Under’s with a Define Jacket to top it off. My sneakers here are the ASICS Tiger GEL-Lyte’s in black and perfect for a day out walking in the city. My Sudio headphones have also been a life changer for my workouts. I love having these bulky headphones instead of little earbuds. Definitely not for everyone but they work for me!
