I feel like I’ve been seeing overalls everywhere lately! And not just your normal, run of the mill overalls. I’ve been seeing different takes on the style to mix things up and to offer a new take on the classic look. I found this (super) affordable pink corduroy overall dress and had to brainstorm a little how I was going to stye it. Since it’s a statement piece on it’s own, I decided to pair it with pieces that were all the same color. This is why I chose black tights, a black turtleneck, black platform sneakers and black Kate Spade purse. Going with one solid color also helps the corduroy overalls stand out that much more!
Would you believe it if I told you that these overalls were only $10?? It was definitely a gamble when I bought these from SHEIN but they’re for sure a winner. A few weeks ago, I did a HUGE clothing haul from SHEIN. If you’ve never heard of the name, it’s a clothing website that’s based overseas with really trendy and inexpensive clothing. I’ve bought a lot from them in the past and although some purchases were a huge fail, I’ve also had some major wins. Here are my “best practices” when opting for more affordable clothing stores online.
DO YOUR RESEARCH
Do a Google search for “store name review” and see what comes up. If one of the first fill in words for your search reads “scam”, you might not want to buy from that store.
READ REVIEWS OF EACH PIECE.
Most of these online stores have an area for personal reviews of each items. These are places for purchasers to upload their own pictures to the website and also an area for reviews. Seeing these are dead giveaways on if the item is worth it or not because a lot of the reviews will comment on the material type which is key.
DO A TEST RUN
It’s definitely worth it to buy a few things from a website you’re unsure about and try them out the quality and fit. Then when you know you feel comfortable with ordering more…do it!
PICTURE IT
One of the number issues with buying ANY clothing is if it will fit your body type. Purchasing cheaper clothing that doesn’t fit your body type is a recipe for disaster. I have been able to make expensive and higher quality clothing work for something that wasn’t meant for my body type but this isn’t the case with buying lower quality pieces. Do your homework and know your body type before buying!
