I hate that feeling on Monday when I’m sitting at work and I’m already stressed. Stressed about how tired I am, how little I got done at home that weekend and the “me time” the last few days lacked. I definitely need time to rest and recharge before a busy week ahead or else I get absolutely nothing done. That’s why I try to take Sunday’s seriously and make time for everything I need to do for a successful week at work.
USE YOUR PLANNER TO WRITE IT OUT
Whether it’s goals, appointments, or other “to-do’s”…write it out! It feels so good to get everything you need to do on paper. It somehow doesn’t feel as overwhelming when you look at it all and then you can begin crossing things off the list. Also knowing what you need to accomplish at the beginning of the week helps you plan for the next 5 days.
MEAL PREP &/OR COOK
If meal prepping is your thing, go for it. It’s really not mine! I’m all over the place when it comes to cooking at home, going out with friends and picking up something I’m craving on my way home from work. When I meal prep I feel obligated to eat what I’ve cooked and it doesn’t work well for me. Although, I do try and cook dinner at home every Sunday night. That way I can make sure what I cook is healthy and I feel ready to start the week on a healthy note.
SELF-CARE “YOU” TIME
Self-care Sunday is a real thing and it’s even better when you focus on “you”. Whether it’s a face mask, mani/pedi, or binging your favorite Netflix show, doing something that makes you feel good will also make you happy.
Take some time on your Sunday to tidy things up around your room and living areas. You will thank yourself later in the week when the clutter creeps back in. One thing I try to do every Sunday is reorganize my drawers. If I’m throwing around shirts and sweaters in my dresser, things can get messy. I feel so much more organized when I go back through and re-fold everything again. It also helps me plan my outfits for the week which is something I really enjoy doing!
MAKE FOR AN EARLY BEDTIME
When I go to bed too late on a Sunday I can definitely feel it Monday at work. These are the worst days because all I can think of is regretting my Sunday decisions and wishing it was the weekend all over again. This takes my focus away from work and stresses me out for the rest of the week. Plan ahead this week and make sure you have an early bedtime.
I hope this list helps a little more with your Sunday scarries! Don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter for more outfit ideas and lifestyle posts.
