It’s always this time of year when the words “spring cleaning” buzz everyone’s ears. What does it even mean? For those addicted to clothes (ACA– Addicted to Clothes Anonymous), it means digging through that pile of clothes piling up in your drawers. You know the feeling. You cycle through the top 4 shirts yet you continue to buy and add to the drawer. If you’re silently nodding your head and staring directly at the pile of your own, keep reading.
I’m using a technique called Five New Outfits. I will take one item of clothing I’ve been wearing on repeat. I then find another piece of complimentary clothing that I may not wear as often as I’d like. This will create an entirely new look that makes the entire look feel refreshed without having to spend a penny. I do this with four more pieces of clothing and, voila! A few new looks for free.
What other ideas do you have to refresh your closet in the spring?
What I’m wearing // This outfit is an easy workplace appropriate outfit for fall or winter if you pair it with a cardigan or jacket. I wore mine here with a leather jacket to give it an edgier look. These pants are from H&M and fit like a glove. They go really well with any type of black top. I used the Five New Outfits technique because I initially pictured wearing them with my black turtleneck but decided to wear it with a sleeveless top instead and pair with a leather jacket.
