Can I start out by saying 1) how is it already fall?! and 2) I’ll fully admit, we’re almost at winter. The weather has drastically dropped here in the city and outdoor drinks require a little more layering and maybe a hot spiked beverage.
Hot Toddy’s aside, I’ve been doing a little online shopping lately for things I want to add to my closet before the close of 2020. Although we may not be going as many places as usual, there are a few fall/winter trends I’ve been eyeing lately. Here are some of my favorites:
The chunky boot trend is making a huge resurgence this year. This twist on a classic chelsea boot is a little edgier than I typically dress, but I think I’m still a fan. I might have to buy a pair of knee highs for this year!
I’ll admit, I was a little turned off by this trend at first. I mean, what yells “I want to dress up as a dad” more than a sweater vest? But I quickly realized there are so many ways to style this piece. I like the turtleneck style because I can easily throw a jacket over and not have to worry about the sleeves bunching up (the little things) and also the lower neck with a button down or turtleneck underneath.
If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ve probably noticed my style has varied throughout the years but color has never played a huge role in my wardrobe. I’ve never felt the most comfortable when wearing too much color. To each their own, but I tend to flock towards more blacks, whites, neutrals, and subtle colors that loud statements. I’m so excited to be incorporating more naturals into my looks and mixing and matching different shades.
